Student Work
Diverse Student Hunt Collaboration Using Padlet:

Students were tasked to research and find a scholarship specifically designed for diverse students. Create a post that included all the required information about your scholarship using the fields provided. Add the direct link to the scholarship application page as their attachment. Try to find scholarships that haven’t been posted by others yet to avoid duplicates and review other posts and like scholarships you plan to apply for.
Scholarship and Student Profile Worksheet Using Google Docs:

Student used their transcript to fill out the student profile document which included their averages for all subject and overall GPA average for the last two years. They also had to answer starter questions that scholarships may ask of them. This would allow them to think critically and may helped them start their college essay.
Scholarship Application Tracker Using Google Sheets:

Students used the scholarship tracker is a tool to stay organized. It kept track of all the scholarships they found and/or applying for, including important details like deadlines, eligibility requirements, application status, and award amounts, ensuring they don’t miss any crucial deadlines and can effectively manage their scholarship applications across multiple sources.
Impact
Upon completing this unit, I expected to find that students gained a deeper understanding of how to research and apply for scholarships, increasing their confidence in funding their education. Based on engagement and student feedback, at least 75-80% of students successfully identify and apply for at least one scholarship.

Many also developed stronger research and organizational skills, which will benefit them in future academic and career pursuits. One challenge that I encounter was keeping all students equally engaged, particularly those who struggle with self-motivation, so I would consider incorporating more interactive or competitive elements in the future. I would also refine the structure of peer workshops, ensuring every student gets personalized support with essays and applications. Moving forward, I may expand this project by inviting guest speakers—such as scholarship recipients or financial aid experts—to provide additional real-world insights.
